As many of you are aware, my daughter, Lana Ameen died from complications of the flu almost 4 years ago. She was 3 years old. Apart from all the support from those around us, the staff at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital offered the most amazing care, not only to Lana, but to us too. She had around 15 people around her and the staff supplied food while another went and bought her some beautiful pyjamas to give us a nice image of her last few hours. They tried their upmost to make this devastating time as easy as possible. There are currently 23 beds for children being treated in Alder Hey Intensive Care Unit and all have 1 on 1 care, sometimes more. If anyone is interested in making a donation in Lana’s name,the money will help towards: •Life-saving medical equipment like the very latest operating theatre technology and critical care cots. •Ground breaking research into new children's medicines and pioneering treatments. •Technology and facilities to give families and patients the best possible hospital experience.
